I fish out of Freeport, Texas and use these 5/0 hooks for almost everything!
We make up rigs with #100 mono, 3 - 5/0 hooks and a #20 oz bank sinker. I have
pulled in 3 snappers and/or b-liners at a time with this rig. I have caught 20 lb
snappers and groupers with these rigs and have never had hook failure! I will also
use these when fishing with large live bait.
You never know what you are going to catch when fishing off shore and I like to use
the best gear available to bring in that fish of a lifetime.
