Mustad 3551-BR Bronze Treble Hooks - Size 12/0

I make my own weighted snag hooks , I'm a nuisance alligator trapper, not much money in dead ones so I try to catch them all alive. Wish I could find stronger and sharper treble hooks that size. Caught plenty of 12' on them but bend almost 100 a year.

We use these for making pipe jigs that we use to catch ling cod in
the Pacific Ocean.

These hooks will be weighted low with .750 oz lead weight. Getting stocked up for
this year's gator season. Tooooo much fun to wait till the last minute.

hi there im going to top of norway in the arctic fishing next month, a place called
skjervoy ,.and theres somes big halibut and cod there , quite often ill use the
treble on a 250 flowing trace and put a 2 lb live coal fish on one treble hook ,
i find the way halibut an big cod come along and eat there prey that i was losing to
many big fish on single hooks. The other reason i use such big trebles is so little
fish cant eat them and thers no chance of little codling or other small fish being
hooked , if the fish is big enough to swallow a size 14 treble then thats the fish i
want to catch :) may seem excessive but i put back 95 percent of the fish i catch i
only keep what i can eat. ill send you a pic of one on your hook when im back.

I use the 12/0 treble hooks for alligator hunting in
Florida.

This is a pic of me holding a 50 pd flat-head, or yellow cat as some people call
them. My family and I hand grab catfish in Louisiana, but in the lake we fish in
there are 30 ft long sections of cement that the catfish will get in. We will
stick a long pole in there and feel him, that will usually make him run out the
hole but if he wont come out we will tie wrap a 12/0 hook on the pole and try to
hook him. It works sometimes. Last weekend we had a fish strike at our hook ( a
mustag 12/0 bronze treble hook) and broke two of the points off. We did not get
him. If we can't hook him and he doest want to come out that long section of
cement then there's nothing we can do. I would have liked to see how big the one
that broke our hook last week was. Our biggest one ever was 92 pounds. When we
are fishing a hole we will block the opening with our body with our arms and hands
in the hole to catch him when he tries to escape. I have been knocked down and
out of some of the holes by some big fish. I have been hand grabbing fish for 12
years and my family has been hand grabbing for about 30 years.
It is getting very hard to find these hooks. I like the bronze ones because they
will bend some. Thank you, I was so happy to be able to order more hooks.

and Ling Cod in the Pacific Northwest. The season is just starting to open
