I mostly am interested in fishing for pelagics. I am a beginner.
I try to match the flylining hooks to the bait. I double-up on everything;
one set for my boat and one for my away setup.
This is particularly important when bait is not in great condition or
fish are picky, as BFT often are.
I use Matzuo, Owner and Mustad Denon in order of increasing hook
weight/strength.
IO only use ringed hooke. I always use fluorcarbon leader.
Lately I have been seeking BFT and using mostly Matzuo #2 & #4. Bait has
been anchovy.
In another month I will go for YT at the Coronados and likely use the
Mustad #2/0.
Last summer I found that when I was out of my favorite flylining hooks
they were not available.
I am stocking up early.

I am heading out tuna fishing next weekend in San Diego. Those hooks are the best
for flylining sardines for tuna. I have used them for 10 years.
