Opti-angle needle point, chemically sharpened, nor-tempered, forged, 2 extra strong, black nickel
This stout, sturdy hook is an excellent choice when fishing small jigs and swim baits for larger fish. One of the most versatile jig hooks, it is ideal for Steelhead, Salmon, Bass, Walleye and in-shore species such as spotted bass, Specks and Sea Trout.

I am starting to learn how to fish with Jig for Salmon and Steelhead.
Each unpainted jig head cost $0.50 if I have to buy them from local store.
And If I have to buy completed steelhead jig, it will cost me $2.00 each.
So I have invested in jig making it will cost me $0.20 for the jig and completing
the steelhead jig will cost be just about $0.50.
That's a huge saving, and I am thinking of selling premade jig @ 3 for $5.00. low
quality jig already price at $2.00 each.
I hope this hook will be strong enough so that I can use it for salmon fishing, else
I have to make them into Shad Jig which still be cheap for me.

I use these hooks in a lead jig mold to make small buck tails and marabou jigs for
steelhead. Hooks are smaller then the alberdeens and 2x strong. Basically a shorter
stronger sharper hook. After molding, powder-coating,and dressing. They are ready
to fish. They are fished traditionally under a float however you can just bottom
bounce them.

I''ll use the Mustad Ultra Point jig hooks for flathead, snapper, small pelagic and
basically all my shallower estuary soft plastic fishing.
Check out "More fat flatties" on you tube. This is not a spam. The video
is submitted under Wilson Fishing here in Australia. I'm the guy who
caught the 71cm fish (28.5 inches). I do part time writing in a local
fishing magazine and have some sponsership with Wilson Fishing which is
wonderful. There are a few other video of me catching bream on lures
also. Flathead are a very popular estuary species in Australia which
grows up to 40 inches long. Sometimes called lizards. We have just had
the Flathead Classic which is tournment held on the Gold Coast (one hour
South of me). Think of a long extra large flounder, lots of fun to
catch. I'm going to Canada next year to catch Northern Pike and Lake Trout.
I suppose I'm just a fishing junkie.
