I use them primarily for largemouth bass fishing in our lakes and reservoirs in
South Africa. You can have a look at my home lake on Google earth if you'd like.

I have always fished crank baits and have always caught my biggest fish consistently
on them and Rapala is just a brand that I know and trust. The new colors that Mike
Iaconelli came out with recently though, the Ike's custom Ink colors have definitely
taken it to a new level. They resemble the natural baitfish in our lakes very well
and the more subtle, muted color choices he has made have definitely increased my
strike rate.
The original Rapala Scatter Rap 5 came out in 2013 I think and I bought a couple of
them and the real big difference for me came when the lure was in open water.
Previously I found that when a lure was away from structure, the fish would not eat
it but the scatter rap changed this because it's so erratic in the water.
The Scatter Rap crank deep is not out in South Africa yet so thought I would get a
jump on everyone here and buy some online. They will be awesome for ledges and
drop-offs. It will be awesome for the mid-depth range of 6-12 ft which in my opinion
is the key depth for big fish!
