With its unique loud popping, cupped plastic lip and its balsa wood body the Skitter Pop® creates a commotion with one of the loudest spitting actions. Fished with walk-the-dog or twitching retrieves, the results are the same…crushing strikes from aggressive surface feeders.

I use this particular Rapala Skitter pop lure trolling (usually lake fishing) very slowly behind the
boat. Also good for a wide river to troll across the top. Going for rainbow and
brown trout, (both introduced) but also for golden perch and smaller murray cod, two
of the native fish that grow to really good sizes.
Golden perch or 'yellowbelly' go up to 5-6 kilo and murray cod are able to reach
6feet plus in length and over a hundred pounds, although thats now rare. My cousins
got one at 65 pounds which was phenomenal.
WE also use them for redfin or english perch, which I think you guys know as yellow
perch. Minor differences but pretty much the same fish, ours just grow to a bit
bigger size.
I'm down south in Melbourne, which is quite cold in winter. A mate of mine uses
these for barramundi fishing up the top end of australia where it is a tropical
climate and does really well. Barra grow to well over a metre and are not only a
great fighting fish, but one of the best table fish in the world. Unfortunately
barra inhabit the same space as big saltwater crocs and sharks in the northern
rivers so its hard yards getting them in in one piece.
