Mustad 3551-BR Bronze Treble Hooks - Size 16

I love these little treble hooks and use them
With power bait for rainbow trout. I use the more muted brown color treble hooks size 14 with live minnows for brown trout and also rainbows. The little mustads work really well especially size 16 for recently stocked trout. The size 12 are to big in my opinion. I do occasionally use 14s if I am out of size 16s.

every year about this time, actually its the 3rd weekend of April, Olander
park in Sylvania Oh has their annual trout derby. They put in thousands of
rainbow trout. I buy trout power bait for my size 16 treble with a split
shot about 3ft up and cast out. It works very well!

I plan on using your hooks for trout fishing up in the Sierra using floating
cheese/nightcrawlers.

I use treble hooks to mount natural minnows on and to fish hill lochs of

Thanks for the quick response on the order, I really appreciate it. Both
sizes of the treble hooks will be used with Berkley Power Bait (Salmon
Peach is THE color). The #16 hooks will be used for stocked rainbow and
golden trout here (Shenandoah Valley Region of Virginia) and in West
Virginia. These trout are usually on a smaller scale ranging from 8-12
inches in size. The #14 hooks will be used on a trip we're taking next
week to a trophy trout stream about 4 hours away in south west Virginia.
We will be fishing for rainbow, golden, brown, and brook trout that range
from 2-10 lbs. so I figured I would need a slightly bigger hook. Hopefully
it's not too cold and we have some good luck!

I actually use these small trebles on a spoon I make for ice fishing.
Big bluegills love this spoon, as well as crappies and perch.
I just kills guys around Northern Indiana that fish as small and subtle as they can,
to see a guy drop this spoon down and tear them up. I also use them drift fishing
for steelhead in the winter behind a small bead.

I can't get them around here ... Except at the trout parks ... I
live in Waynesville MO and we have a stocked place called the Roubidux
spring ... The small hooks I get usually cost 4 for 5 dollars at either
Montouk or Bennet Springs ... My wife and I like to go to the Roubidux some
mornings and catch few ... She eat them ... Loves fish ..

I use these for my children to fish powerbait for
trout. They make the task of setting the hook so much easier than a single
size 14. The key to catching stream stocked trout is light line and small
hooks that can be completely concealed. A size 16 treble hook is perfect
for this. Although, locating size 16 treble hooks is becoming more
difficult. I checked several stores and simply cant find them anymore.

I fish a lot! My wife and Grand kids do also, so we use a lot of terminal
tackle. Tiny hooks like this come in handy for the Grand kids cuz setting
the hook is kind of hard for them. Small trebles hook them more easily and
keeps them on the line better than a single hook.

no everyone isnt to bussy,they just dont want to tell people, the reason
why is for 1, the price of these hooks,its getting outragest,second is they
are scared they mite buy all of them and they wont be able to find them,if
there is another reason i dont know, smiles i use them trout fishing and
that's all i use them for.so it doesn't bother me to tell
I only use them a few times a year,the rest of the time,im crappie, or
bass fishing.

I would love to help you better understand what I use these hooks for. It started
about 15 yrs ago I started using them when fishing with my son who is autistic. He
did not have the skills required to set a single hook into a trout's mouth and these
hooks helped him catch trout whenever the trout even touched the bait. Literally
the fish hooks themselves with this specific hook. Size 16 is the only size I use
for all species of fish. Imgine how thrilled I was to see you had that size for
sale. I was literally down to about 20 left. Many years later I started using them
for steelhead fishing where sometimes these big trout just touch the bait. So in
essence they have helped my son and I appreciate the sport so much more. I was
thrilled to see you had 225 of them available. These should last me about 3 years.
