In NC, you can't bottom fish with bait unless you are using a circle hook. I need
one 8/0 or so to fit in my mOLD.

I plan on using these mustad ultra point circle hooks for tarpon in the Florida Keys. Found out about them on
a message board on Floridasportsman.com. Go to that site, click on forum, click on
Florida Keys, then on general fishing. You can then search on the model number of
these hooks and read about them.

we are an amateur Catfishing team and we use them to catch
Catfish. We have a site on facebook that we post our pics and tournament updates.
https://www.facebook.com/NortheastOhioCatfishing. WE are under a name change and are
called Team Vortex Catfishing. This name is also used on facebook to find our page.

I use these Ultra Point Circle hooks to bottom fish (with electric reels) in 300 to 900 feet
of water here in Hawaii. I fish with an L-shaped 2-hook rig on a spreader
(prevents tangling of the 15' leader on the way down). I've tried just
about every brand of circle hook you could think of - I've found the right
hook makes a big difference in my small-time commercial operation. In
general very sharp points and thin wire are the best for me. The "red
snapper" type fish I catch only get about 10 pounds so I almost never bend
or break a hook. So far Matzuo makes the best hook I've found but I'm
always looking for a better one!
